Galveston, TX – United Way of Galveston named Lindsey White as their new Executive Director following the retirement of Kenna Kasten.
Prior to joining the Island’s United Way, White served as Associate Executive Director for United Way Galveston County Mainland. Lindsey officially took the helm at United Way of Galveston on July 12.
“We are delighted to announce that we have hired Lindsey,” said UWG Board President Mary Ferris. “We are confident that her history with United Way operations combined with her love for the Island will be a great asset to our organization and our Partner Agencies!”
Lindsey has been an active volunteer in Galveston for many years, serving on the boards of Advocacy Center for Children and Yaga’s Children’s Fund. White earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an MBA from University of Houston – Clear Lake
“I am so excited about working with United Way of Galveston,” said Lindsey. “I am passionate about the work that United Way does to help children achieve their full potential, to provide food and shelter to those in need, and to assist the community in the face of disaster.”
United Way provides housing, food, training, youth-engagement services, and support for families and individuals of all ages to stay healthy through their network of partner agencies. The annual United Way Fundraising Campaign will commence on August 31 at a Kick-off Luncheon at Moody Gardens.
