Hal Rochkind to Serve as 2018-2019 Campaign Chair
Following an influential line of dedicated leaders committed to making a difference in Galveston, Rochkind Insurance CEO Hal Rochkind will serve as United Way of Galveston’s 2018 – 2019 Annual Campaign Chair. As Chair, he will champion the volunteers who raise funds at businesses to support the health and human service work of United Way and its partner agencies.
“I said yes to serving as chair for this campaign because United Way helps so many of the agencies I’m involved with. I am the current president of Galveston Island Meals on Wheels, a board member of Advocacy Center for Children, past board member and two time president of Galveston ISD Educational Foundation and of course past president of Rotary,” said Hal Rochkind.
In 2017, United Way of Galveston raised more than $1 million for their 24 partner agencies through the workplace giving campaign. In addition, United Way of Galveston helped raise, deploy, and leverage nearly $4 million in recovery funds to help Galveston County flood victims recover from Hurricane Harvey. Rochkind and a cabinet of volunteers have set the 2018 Campaign Goal, which will be announced at a Kick-off Luncheon on August 30 at Moody Gardens Hotel.
“I see the United Way as the comprehensive helping hand. They are the glue of all of our wonderful non-profits in Galveston,” said Rochkind. “Giving to United Way allows you to effect change, because their 24 Partner Agencies work together to tackle the root causes of Galveston’s most pressing issues. Our shared belief that everyone in Galveston deserves the opportunity to thrive is the reason I LIVE UNITED.”
