We know that your favorite Galveston-based nonprofit organization does a whole lot with a little, and we want to help!

United Way of Galveston’s First Annual Day of Caring is scheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2017. Day of Caring is gearing up to be the single largest one-day, community-wide volunteer event in Galveston. Local businesses and organizations will take part by coordinating teams of employees to spend a day giving back to area nonprofit agencies.

We encourage your nonprofit organization to participate by submitting one or more project applications. Not only will Day of Caring bring you some helping hands, research shows that volunteers give twice as often to charity as non-volunteers.

Projects can include client interaction, but they don’t have to. You can also submit requests for maintenance, landscaping, envelope stuffing, and more. There are some businesses who will participate by doing team projects within their office, so think along those lines as well. 

The deadline for project submission is August 1, 2017, but as usual, the sooner the better!
