Comcast and Xfinity announced as FIRST United Way of Galveston Platinum Corporate Sponsor!
Comcast and Xfinity has been a United Way of Galveston Corporate Partner since 2023. In the short time we have worked together, Comcast and Xfinity has invested generously and strategically on the island through United Way of Galveston to increase access to online connectivity and improve literacy (all of which are necessary to achieve health, education, and financial stability). We have co-hosted Lunch and Learns, technology giveaways, training sessions, and more in Galveston because Comcast and Xfinity + UWG = Increased Connectivity!
We are thrilled to announce that Comcast and Xfinity is United Way of Galveston’s first-ever Platinum Corporate Partner! They have made a significant investment in United Way of Galveston, donating $20,000 to advance our mission and ensure people in Galveston have access to affordable connectivity options + digital literacy + skills for online safety.
This generous support from Comcast and Xfinity is already allowing United Way of Galveston to expand our programming!
- We are able to charter a bus to drive Galveston nonprofit board members to the Best Boards Conference at Rice University coming up on March 27
- We have an exciting Lunch and Learn with planned during Digital Equity Week and sponsored by Comcast and Xfinity
- We can continue our fight to close the digital divide on the island. Everyone needs access to information, education, job opportunities, healthcare services, and civic engagement platforms. These are only possible with the ability to be online – with a reliable connection and with an affordable cost.
Digital equity helps individuals thrive in a technology-driven society, and we want to see people in Galveston thrive! This is why United Way of Galveston’s partnership with Comcast and Xfinity is so exciting: together, we are going to increase access to online options and skills so people of all ages on the island can succeed in school, work, and beyond!
