United Way of Galveston promotes Born Learning and Baby Smart across island this spring

Born Learning and the Are you “Baby Smart?” Quiz are United Way of Galveston programs designed to educate caregivers of young children (parents, aunts/uncles, grandparents, teen babysitters) about the things they can do to build baby’s brains during everyday activities like walking, running errands, and more into learning opportunities.
These programs were born on the island in 2022 in partnership with key partners including Nia Cultural Center, GISD, Better Parks for Galveston, and more.
Every Spring, United Way of Galveston hits the road to promote the quiz (that’s one of our measures of success and engagement) and the Born Learning Trails (five locations and counting on the island). We engage with families and caregivers at every opportunity from March – May to spread the word about the trails, which are free family attractions, and invite people to take the 1-minute, anonymous quiz, to tell them (and us) how “baby smart” Galveston is.
