We’re sending a huge thank you to the 2024–2025 Ball High School Volleyball Teams for stepping up in a big way to support young children and families in Galveston!

This incredible group of student-athletes helped us assemble more than 1,500 “Born Learning + Baby Smart” kits, a powerful blend of play and purpose. Each kit includes sidewalk chalk and easy-to-follow tips for parents and caregivers on how everyday moments can help build a baby’s brain.

These kits will be distributed across Galveston to families with young children, helping ensure that our youngest learners have a strong start from the very beginning. Born Learning encourages simple, everyday actions like drawing with your child or narrating your walk down the street that make a lasting impact on early development.

A special thank-you goes to Michelle Norfolk for coordinating this project between United Way and the Ball High teams. Her leadership and support helped make this partnership possible, and we’re so grateful.

We’re also incredibly thankful to these students for lending their time, energy, and team spirit to help us support caregivers and little learners in our community. Go Tors!
