Galveston Shows Up at the Power Tools for Nonprofits Conference

Galveston showed up strong in Houston, again! Nonprofit leaders from across our island came together for the Power Tools for Nonprofits Conference on November 19, 2025, and the energy was contagious. It was exciting to see such a united presence off island, learning as a group and representing our community on a regional stage.

For United Way of Galveston, this is the heart of our mission. We connect those who need help to those who can help and we strengthen the organizations that serve our neighbors every day. When we share space with partners, learn together, and build new relationships, our entire network becomes more capable, more informed, and more connected.

Why This Matters

Professional development is not an extra. It is essential. Our local nonprofits deliver critical services across health, education, and financial stability and they deserve access to the same high quality learning opportunities as larger organizations across the region.

We spent the day exploring new tools for storytelling, board development, volunteer engagement, data informed decision making, and community partnership. These ideas do more than inspire. They strengthen how we work, how we collaborate, and how we show up for people on Galveston Island.

This is what mission alignment looks like. When our nonprofit partners grow, our entire community benefits.
