Make your 2027 pledge now. Payroll deductions begin January 1.

Across Galveston workplaces, employees and employers are coming together through workplace giving to support United Way of Galveston and the nonprofit organizations they care about.

You can give to United Way of Galveston. You can give through United Way of Galveston to an eligible nonprofit you choose. You can bring workplace giving to your employer. Or you can help someone else get connected.

There is a place for you in this campaign.

I Want to Give

Workplace giving is one of the easiest ways to make generosity part of your year.

If your workplace already partners with United Way of Galveston, your campaign may have its own dates, pledge form, campaign contact, and payroll deduction process.

Don’t see your workplace listed?

You do not have to wait for someone else to start the conversation.

Make your pledge, take it to your employer, and tell them you would like to give through payroll deduction. United Way of Galveston can help your workplace set up a process that works for your organization.

Give to United Way. Or give through United Way.

Your workplace pledge can support United Way of Galveston, or you may choose to designate your gift to an eligible nonprofit organization that matters to you.

That organization does not have to be located in Galveston. We know many people work here and live in surrounding communities, and donor choice is part of how workplace giving works.

If you pledge at least $50 during the calendar year, you may designate your gift to one or more eligible nonprofit organizations.

United Way of Galveston does not charge the recipient nonprofit an administrative fee on designated gifts.

How Workplace Giving Works

Pledge this fall.

Choose how much you want to give and, if eligible, whether you want your gift to support United Way of Galveston or another eligible nonprofit organization you choose.

Payroll deductions begin January 1.

Your employer handles the deduction through payroll based on the process established for your workplace.

Your gift goes to work throughout the year.

Small amounts from individual paychecks add up quickly when people across workplaces participate together.

I Want to Start a Workplace Campaign

Your workplace can be part of this.

A workplace campaign can be as simple or as involved as your organization wants it to be. Some employers offer a straightforward pledge opportunity and payroll deduction. Others add presentations, employee activities, volunteer opportunities, or friendly campaign challenges.

United Way of Galveston will help you build a campaign that fits your workplace and your people.

And you do not have to be the CEO or HR director to get one started.

Sometimes a workplace campaign begins with one employee asking: “Can we do this here?”

If you are ready to bring workplace giving to your organization, we are ready to help.

I’m a Nonprofit

Yes. This campaign can benefit your organization, too.

Your supporters may already be giving at work. Make sure they know they may be able to choose your organization.

Employees participating in workplace giving through United Way of Galveston may designate eligible gifts to nonprofit organizations they care about.

For donors who pledge at least $50 during the calendar year, designated gifts can be directed to one or more eligible nonprofits.

And when United Way of Galveston sends a designated gift to your organization, we do not deduct an administrative fee from that gift.

That means your staff, board members, volunteers, donors, and supporters have another way to give: through their workplace.

Help us spread the word.

I Want to Help Another Way

You do not have to run a workplace campaign to help this one grow.

You can:

  • Introduce United Way of Galveston to someone at your workplace.
  • Ask your employer to offer payroll deduction.
  • Share workplace giving information with coworkers, friends, or nonprofit supporters.
  • Help a nonprofit you care about understand how designated giving works.
  • Invite us to talk with your team.
  • Follow the campaign and share the organizations and workplaces taking part.

Sometimes one introduction is all it takes to open a new door.

The Campaign Is in Motion

The Workplace Giving Campaign does not happen in one room or on one day.

It happens in workplaces across Galveston. It happens when an employee makes a pledge, when a campaign leader gets coworkers involved, when a nonprofit tells supporters about donor choice, and when someone makes the introduction that brings a new workplace into the campaign.

Throughout the fall, we will share campaign launches, workplace and nonprofit spotlights, useful tips, fun facts, photos, milestones, and stories from the people putting workplace giving into action.

See the impact. Find your lane. Take the wheel.
